Uncharted Isle Project

This project is all about using my skills to make something that I feel shows of what I want to do as a profession. For example I am making an island in UE4 using models that I have created throughout this project, this is because I want to become a 3D artist and potentially create environments using my modelling skills. This project not only covers my 3D work but it also involves some 2d concept art and planning as I cant just make a random Island without any structured research. I have have also gave photoshop a try to help further block out what my island might look like in colour. Overall this project is great for developing an idea for personal progression and it helps to really show what I can do.

The following 3 images are drawn concepts I made to help me decide what my island should look like. This is Concept 1.

With my island chosen I moved on to designing my palm trees, but before I started modelling I made a mood board to help as reference for when I made the palm tree in blender.

With my island chosen I moved on to designing my palm trees, but before I started modelling I made a mood board to help as reference for when I made the palm tree in blender.

Using the mood board as reference and with the help of Quixel Bridge for realistic textures, I successfully made my palm tree all ready to be implemented to my island for when it was made.

With my palm tree made it was time to start looking at making some rocks that could be used to further decorate the island. I once again made a mood board to serve as a reference when modelling.

Using the mood board as reference and with the help of Quixel Bridge for realistic textures, I successfully made my rocks that will later be implemented to my island when ready.

With my models made I diverted my attention to making the shape of my island. As you can see in this video I did just that I know I have a base for me to work on. I also did some scripting and got some cool water textures to go with my island.
